Drymen and East Loch Lomond Church of Scotland
Sunday Services at 11:30am
Welcome to our website and welcome to Drymen and East Loch Lomond Church of Scotland - we’re so glad you’ve come to explore a bit about who we are.
We exist to love Jesus and that overflows into a love for our community, one that stretches from Croftamie, through Drymen and all the way up the east side of Loch Lomond. On our website, you’ll find information about who we are, what goes on around this place and some of the history of how we ended up here.
After our recent union, our services are now on Sundays 11:30am in the Drymen church building on Main Street, Drymen except the last Sunday of the month, when we meet at 10am in the church building in Milton of Buchanan. We’d love to see you there to join with our amazing church family whose passion is to know and serve God.

Alex Smeed, Locum Minister
Alex has been part of Drymen church for the past 6 years, where he and his family have been part of the worshipping community. Before moving to the area, Alex led a team working on a new expression of church in Glasgow Harbour which was a project in conjunction with Partick South and Whiteinch churches. He was ordained into this role in 2008 having followed God’s call into church ministry, studying at the International Christian College in Glasgow and New College in Edinburgh. After our previous minister retired, Alex stepped into the role of Locum Minister for Buchanan & Drymen churches. Alex is finding a new joy and passion from being involved in ministry again after having taken a career break of several years to look after the kids. His passion is to teach and live out the Kingdom of God that Jesus inspires us all to embrace, with a particular focus on reconnecting people with God and seeing peace and justice come to creation.
He lives in Balfron with his wife Sally, their two kids and Heidi the dog.
